We use them every day. They influence our lives. They are so common that we rarely think about them: the hidden heroes of everyday life. Be it a dowel, a tea bag or a zipper, these objects are classics. Due to their constancy, efficient use of materials and great utility, they are the utmost examples of sustainability and functional aesthetics. This exhibition presents 36 objects, providing their history, and demonstrating their conceptual and economic significance. This exhibition originated at the Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein, Germany, and will be on display from April 13, 2013 through September 1, 2013 at the MIT Museum.
