Schnurzpiepegal (Like Master, Like Dog)

10:30am & 1pm
A picture book written and illustrated by Ms. Steinitz is brought to life, performed out of a suitcase, with live music created and played on an array of instruments by Mr. Kollin. While walking through the city, one can see that all dogs look like their owners. But there are some exceptions: Leonora loves operas more than anything and shares a happy life with her dog Fidelio, who doesn’t look like her at all. Two blocks from their home lives another odd couple, Joshua and his dog Pistachia, who share a passion for home made chocolates. In the street people wrinkle their noses and laugh about Leonora and Joshua who don’t match with their dogs at all. A humorous love story about outsiders who overcome their loneliness and people’s prejudices by accepting themselves. Children will be able to make their own toy theater puppets. Recommended for ages 3 & up. Tickets: $12/General Admission $8/Members,

May 17 at 7 pm, May 18 at 1 pm, May 19 at 1 pm. A Watertown Children’s Theatre Play Factory production.
Wayside School was accidentally built sideways. It was supposed to be only one story high, with thirty classrooms all in a row. nstead, it is thirty stories high, with one classroom on each story!
Bernarda Alba

Based on Federico Garcia Lorca's 1936 play The House of Bernarda Alba, this masterwork by Michael John LaChiusa, composer of such critically acclaimed hits as The Wild Party and Marie Christine, originally debuted at Lincoln Center. Bernada Alba a tells the tales of a powerful matriarch, who imposes a strict rule on her household following her second husband's funeral: "Not a breath of outside air is going to enter this house. It's going to feel like we've bricked up the doors and windows," she proclaims. Bernarda's five daughters, however, struggle with her cold wishes. The girls' dreams and desires challenge their mother's harsh rules and the outside world begins to slowly permeate their isolated existence. It is a unique and challenging piece of theatre, that the young company could't be more excited to bring to Stoneham Theatre's stage, in the hands of its talented act 3 performers and its director, Christopher James Webb.

Jekyll & Hyde

An evocative tale of the epic battle between good and evil, Jekyll & Hyde is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story about a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality create a murderous counterpart. Convinced the cure for his father's mental illness lies in the separation of Man's evil nature from his good, Jekyll unwittingly unleashes his own dark side, wreaking havoc in the streets of London as the savage, maniacal Edward Hyde. This gothic musical plays with the juicier aspects of Victorian melodrama, yet still features a powerful rock score.

Monkey and the Mystery of the Snake

Someone keeps sneaking into the Heavenly Banquet Hall and eating food and decorations meant to honor the Year of the Snake. Is it the charming and mysterious Snake King? Or a cranky Monkey who wishes the banquet were in his honor?

Join Margaret Moody of Galapagos Puppets for this fanciful adaptation of “Monkey Wreaks Havoc in Heaven,” an early episode of the Chinese epic "Journey to the West." Margaret performs the show with traditional Taiwanese puppets and choreography.

Puppets at Arlington Center for the Arts had hoped to present this show in February, but got snowed out. Come honor the Year of the Snake and stay for oolong tea and puppet-play afterward!
