Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Plymouth, the popular train ride will depart the Kingston MBTA station, with readings of the beautiful Christmas story written by Chris Van Allsburg, a visit from Santa and fun for kids of all ages. This one-hour train ride on double-decker passenger cars travels from Kingston to Halifax and back on the MBTA’s Old Colony Line. There are four time slots: 11:45 a.m. and 1:45, 4 and 7:15 p.m. Rotarians will sell tickets at the Food Court in front of Macy’s at Independence Mall in Kingston on Friday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 28, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. They may also be purchased at NorthEast Community Bank, 8 North Park Ave., Plymouth, or online at www.plymouthrotary.com. Individual tickets sell for $20 each. Family discounts are available at $75 for a 5-pack of tickets and $125 for a 10-pack. Kids are encouraged to wear their jammies over their clothes for the train ride. Elves will read the “Polar Express” story and provide goodies for the younger riders. All children will receive a gift from Santa Claus while on board the train.
