Gore Mansion Tours, 11am – 3pm, Saturdays; 1pm, Monday-Friday, Gore Place, 52 Gore St., Waltham. Tour the 19th-century home of Christopher and Rebecca Gore. $10 adults, $5 children 5-12. 781-894-2798; goreplace.org.

Meet an Animal, 2pm on Saturdays, South Shore Natural Science Center, 48 Jacobs Lane, Norwell. A different animal featured each week. Free with admission. 781-659-2559; ssnsc.org.

Newton Centre Year Round Walk, Jan. 6 – Dec. 15, explores the villages of West Newton and Auburndale. Two routes are available, 3.1 miles or 6.2 miles, and both are rated moderately easy, suitable for strollers but not wheelchairs. The start point is the Newton Free Library, 330 Homer St., Newton Centre. The Walk Box can be found on the table in the main lobby. Open Play, Tuesdays, 9:30-11:30am, NRC Family Network, Jefferson School, 93 George St., Rockland. Kids can enjoy drop-in playtime, and parents can browse the Parent Resource Library, talk with NRC Family Network staff and meet other families and friends. 781-681-9736.

Outdoor Adventure, 9am – 3pm, Monday-Friday, Gore Place, 52 Gore St., Waltham. Take an adventure walk! Gore Place provides an activities backpack filled with binoculars, a magnifying glass and activities to help kids search for animal tracks and identify trees. Also, visit the animals on the farm. Seasonal Walks. Enjoy trails that take scenic and historic routes through towns and cities including Quincy, Fall River, Concord and Newton. Most routes are suitable for strollers. ava.org/clubs/walknmass.

Three scenic walks of Boston – Freedom Trail Walk, Back Bay/Beacon Hill Walk and Special Places Walk – offer a chance to explore Boston and many of its sites of interest, from Jan. 1 to Dec. 20. Walks vary in length (3-6 miles) and are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Thursday Animal Drop-ins at the Children’s Museum in Easton (9 Sullivan Ave.) include an informal petting zoo with a new animal each week, a simple craft and a song or two. Drop-ins run 10:30-11:30am and are free with Museum admission ($6). 508- 230-3789; www.childrensmuseumineaston.org.

Visit the Massachusetts Audubon Society Web site, www.massaudubon.org, for a comprehensive search of nature-related events in your area.

Walking Club
